A year of new beginnings

School starts tommorow. Exams, in about a month.

Tried uploading pictures for the previous post just now, but having problems. Tag board is down too. Will fix it one day. But it's too late now...

Visited Kizzy my sis dog, at a house of my mum's student in the evening. She's been living there for the past 5 months now. To my delight she still remembers me, and jumped into my lap, the moment i sat down. She hasn't grown much, she's still bout the same size, but her fur's getting lighter now. Took her for a short walk.

Officially handed over the dog to that family now. yup.

Have a great year ahead!

The 12 days of Christmas (before n after)

Mon 18th

CYA duty

Tue 19th

CYA duty again, this time replacing someone else. Tuesday's CYAs are mostly gals, the more quiet type, so never really go n talk to them. oh and 1 guy. he's a real handful. v. sneaky.

Wed 20th

woke up at about 1. supposed to meet some of my class guys at 3, but realised they had called me a few times to let me know that it was changed to 2. flew down to suntec city to catch De JaVu. normally dun like most time travel shows, bcaus i find plots in the gap which i feel spoils the show a lot.

This one wasn't too bad. a time travel, thriller sorta show. not many plot holes too. =)

after that went to Marina Bay for a steam boat. we walked pretty far in, and i didn't have breakfast or lunch, so i ate quite a lot. usually, i'm the one who never finishes my food, so everyone were quite surprised.

the steamboat turned out to be more of a bbq, with the amount of meat we were consuming, carbon flakes and all. i tried to cook some seafood, but then had second thoughts when i chewed on sand a few times.

went over to a arcade next door. played initial D and nearly beat a difficult AI, until the machine crashed. tried again when the game restarted, but by then lost my rhythm n crashed out. =(

Thursday 21st

study alone at tampines library. much as i love learning about engines, the textbooks can really put people to sleep. now i value practical learning much more than before.

Friday 22nd

CYA committee meeting. Lunch with them at Fish n Co. boon lay. after that accompanied my friend into a Lingerie store as he thought of presents for a gift exchange the next monday. i imagined the sensation it would cause when he gave the lingerie voucher to the gal on monday. left dissapointed, he backed out.

met zx at 3 o clock in school, 2 hours after our scheduled meeting time. he wasn't v. pissed thankfully. that is until i remembered i didn't bring my swimming trunks. then he was pissed.

paid for his bubble tea as compensation.

Saturday 23rd

soccer with scott at pasir ris park. muddy field. stayed home the rest of day.

Sunday 24th

church service in the morn at stadium.

christmas party at uncles house in the evening. got a joystick, a pair of ex green earphones(dont think i'll wear). nice. watched Superman Returns. which was quite ok.

borrowed uncles PS2 back. tried whole night, but it didn't work.

Monday 25th (Christmas Day)

Merry Christmas! went City Harvest Church play in the morning. very nice play. love their plays. should all go next year. cool candle lightning thingy at the end too.

Met with the monday guys at airport for dinner. guest Bernice, an old CYA mate. happy duty as always. met with 3 unexpected people at the airport.

No.1 Sarah Chan. Boy was i surprised when i saw her in the red n white christmas costume. very very surprised. considering she's the 5th hai sian i met working in the airport, i shouldn't, but it really caught me off guard.

talked to her a bit about her job n all. think i've never spoken so much to her before. n it was less than 5 mins.

No.2 juz when i was recovering from suprise no.1, ran into 2 TP CYA's who were on duty. suprise suprise, bcaus they actually had no duty today, but came by accident... haha. glad they join us though.

No.3, while in T2 i heard that Joyce, the Korean CSO (also my japanese teacher), was looking for me. surprise caus i thought she finished her contract.

took some photos after the duty, decorations n all.

Tue 26th (Boxing day)

went to Chinese Gardens on an early n wet morning. was to meet my teacher n group to discuss our Final Year Project. it's about Aluminium corrosion in aerospace application, in case ur interested. haha. sounds "fun" right. hopefully will get me good grades though.

got bullied into watching Night at the Museum at PS by the guys. rush for duty.

Boxing day n i'm on duty again! err, tue duty not v. eventful. small birthday celebration after duty. had to contribute to the cake money.

weird thing was the b'day gal was helping a passenger for 40mins after duty. which is quite rare to get.

Wed

nth. stone at home.

Thurs 21st

went for 1st Japanese lesson at my teacher's house which a few stone throws away (maybe 2 or 3 for an olympic hurler). 5 of us. made of CYAs n exCYA's.

my classmates seem so knowledgable about Japanese already. i v. blur. gotta buck up.

met with elton at TM, to watch death note 2. i've watched like 5-6 movies this holiday, n this is by far the best. great ending. the only movie i really wanted to watch this holiday anyway.

Fri, Sat, Sun

Slack. at home. including new year's eve. except church on sunday of course. other than that. playing Gran Turismo on PS2 which is finally working. it's the super realistic car simulator. (super realistc= super tough) finally getting the hang of it.

Today(New Year's day)

Happy New Year! actually, for me just another day i guess.

woke at 2 as usual. went Changi Village for brunchner (thats breakfast-lunch-dinner) then went TM shopping for a while.

hope to be able to post pics next time. when i'm free. anyways. happy holidays!

Jingle the Bells of Freedom

Finally, the start of the hols. yeah! pretty relaxed hols for once... 3 weeks of rest, no projects or other random rubbish to clog up the holidays, much...

Really glad the A level over, caus even though dun get to see everyone all the time, but ppl generally got more time to go out n stuff...

For eg.

Sat evening, went to watch a rather boring (but at least they won) 3-0 victory by Liverpool with Mariliene n Qing Long... Woke up super late like 2.30 tt day so not v. tired. walked back from tampines home.

Sunday
met xuan yong for lunch after his tuition nearby. went for church service, which ended super early. christmas shopping at suntec, marina and millinea walk. wat i bought? weights. hmm. start of the non stop rain. late night dota with whole bunch of ppl. fun.

Monday
rain continues. slept v. late, woke up v. late. laze around when supposed to go library to study. rain makes ppl v. lazy.... Woke up late from nap, slightly late for CYA duty. Nvm, duty is great as always.

Tuesday
rain dosen't seem to stop. v. v. lazy. headache from anyhow lifting weights. study a bit at home caus too rainy to go out. went to do replacement CYA duty. quite fun also. going out with classmates tommorow.

Seasons Greetings

The A levels are over. I'm quite glad. haha. Now those studying in JC will have more time to go out yeah! But i bet they're 1000X glader than me. Thats great. Everyone's happy.

Went out on a so-called 4E2 gathering at Orchard yest. I wasn't too sure what to expect, and i didn't have time to ask either. Was busy the whole week.

In the end it was Spencer, Wan Fung, Audrey n me that went to have lunch at a restaurant like place below Heeren.

It was my first time there, but that place is quite cool. Food stalls selling all sorta foods, decorated like those in a doll house? Hard to explain. Gotta see it yourself.

Went to play a bit of pool at orchard cineleisure while waiting for xuan yong. Jie Ying n Sing Ying came a while, but i didn't talk much to them. A bit weird but if I saw them on the street i'd comfirm say hi or talk to them a bit, but like whenever with other people, i just feel uncomfortable. weird huh.

As K box next door was having a promotion, we decided to go over, and sang and played around till like 7 plus. Some of them picked those real oldies songs, or those kinda weird songs like One Night in Beijing and Tuo Diao, that kind, which was a real laugh.

Went home after having dinner.

Even though relatively few people actually went for this gathering, because of many cancellations. Actually feel that less people actually better. For example if the whole class went, simple stuff like deciding where to go and what to do would seem like the hardest desicion in the world.

Also if example more people went, then i probably wouldn't be talking with spencer etc. which kinda defeats the purpose of the gathering right. Whats the point if ya juz gonna talk to those who you always talk to anyway?

anyway had a good time. Christmas and holidays coming soon!!!

Black Hole

They say in a black hole, time slows down until it stops. Dunno anyth about that but i know that school has been sucking a lot of my time.

Just finished 2 weeks of test recently. Also my grandfather died recently, had to attend to the funeral activities while studying for tests. v. tough. my dad also flew home to attend the funeral but he's flying off soon.

Actually got a few posts i was working on, but no time to complete them... Got maybe 4 or 5 drafts sitting, waiting to be completed. No time or energy to complete them.

Actually really feel like having a break now after the rather stressed 2 weeks of tests, but SP schedule dictates that holidays start only on the 17 dec. At least we get a 3 week break then.

Now i know, when they say poly life is slack. They mean every poly but SP. haha. maybe everyone thinks like that.

Hair v. long now, cause no time to cut? Guess thats an excuse. Will probably go cut tomorrow. But not too short, quite like it this way.

Oh btw, the reason i got time to post is cause i didn't realise school that one of the morning classes for today was cancelled. So I've got 4 hours to kill. Smart huh?

Transition

it's been a pretty rough week for me. usually a week juz flashes by for me but this week was extra long.

It was mid semester tests this week after last week's e-learning, which luckily was pretty easy for once. even e-learning week was busy, with CYA duties with the first batch, going out with ql n practicing for a skit to be performed at the airport. and of course, studying for the tests this week.

right after the skit performance on monday, i got a call from my mum that my grandfather, the one which i had brought to New Zealand, had a stroke n was in critical condition in Changi Hospital.
i had planned on going home to study for my test, but instead i rushed over to see him.

Arriving in hospital, i was faced with a scene of my grandfather lying unconscious on the hospital bed, with tubes sticking out all over him. gathered around were my immediate family members, some holding his hand, others in huddled in groups praying for him.

not long after, a pastor from my church came over to pray for him. We prayed over him for about 15 mins. I didn't really know how i felt that time, now still don't really not what to feel. Sad of course. Not really frightened.

soon after two nurses came in and pulled the shutters over the bed. They were going to suck the phlegm out of his throat since he couldn't get rid of it himself. The sounds of slurping and sucking were sickening.

Even though he couldn't speak or move at all, we knew he was partially conscious at least as he could still cry when we speak to him. Can tell by the sound, he was really suffering.

Despite all this, i had to go back to study for the test and so i did. That night, i prayed for him before i slept, and this comfort that Jesus would take care of him, gave me peace to sleep soundly. The next morning, my mum called to say that my grandad had died peacefully in his sleep at 5am that morning.

My first close relative to pass away.

I was a bit shocked, yet somehow a bit not suprised. i'll explain later.

Over the next few days it was pretty busy, with the funeral preperations and all. I wasnt there for 2 days, studying for tests. I heard that some of my relatives were not happy about it, but i dunno. the moment i was free i would go help out too. it's not like i was having it easy, being alone at home, eating noodles everyday, making my own breakfast while trying not to be late for school.

i think it's better than sitting around talking to people who's names i can't even remember all day while eating peanuts? repeating a whole semester just to do that? no thank you. once again, it has nothing to do with me not being filial to my grandad.

the day before the burial we the grandkids all drew smth for him. I drew a pic of me n him in NZ, caus tt's wat i rmbr best.

For us the feeling of him leaving is like sad caus we will miss him, but we know can get to see him again in heaven so not too sad. temporal. =)

yay i finished.

I was a bit shocked but a bit not suprised.

Ignite

hi. i know i havent been updating for a while. can't really claim to be busy. more like playing dota.

CYA Camp

Last Fri to Sat had a CYA camp for the new 6th batch CYA's after school. The seniors spent about 2 days going back like 9pm to help plan n be briefed about the event, not to mention the planning committee which probably spent weeks planning this. rmbr the NPCC sec 1 orientation camp? we also spent a lot of time doing it up, but it was fun right? even though tiring...

i think the camp was a pretty big success, caus it was fun, everyone was involved and we got to meet the new batch as well as work closer among ourselves. so that the gap between the 2 senior batches will minimise. most camps i wanna leave as quickly as possible, but this one didn't.

my new duty day Monday got a lot of ppl from hai sing. besides me n dennis, there's 1 gal from hai sing prefects which i recognise as well as 1 ji siao guy raphael who according to him, drives batt hong crazy. 4 out of 11 is a lot u think? many stay east side too.

other characters are franko from MJ and jerelyn frm 4E6.

the camp had the usual mix of ice-breaking games, amazing race, role play, skit presentation etc.... but all at a slack n comfortable pace. the particularly fun ones were double Wacko, where all the hai sing ones somehow gang up to aim me, n i had to depend on my parnter to save me... luckily he's good at names, if it's me alone, i'll probably be the one doing the wacking all the time...

another one was amazing race, which the seniors set up in the middle of the night, from 12-6... as the stations were place all over the school, as u can guess it was pretty exciting. especially at the school of business where i went to help out. after setting up the station, i asked the other seniors that i wanted to walk the legendary red bridge of SP... if not like will regret it for the rest of my life...

somehow i managed to convince them to accompany me to walk across the bridge... seriously, it is a very dark bridge even though it's open air... but with 7 ppl crossign with torches, somehow not that scary le... but still fun though. =)

during the Treasure Hunt, my station was the one involving the inevitable waterbombs. but since we r such a nice n gentle club, we dun throw waterbombs at the juniors. instead the game involves tossing waterbombs around using towels and trying to collect a certain amount. in this way, whether they get wet or not depends on their own teamwork. fair right?

Thursday

thursday as i believe was the start of the A levels. the night before i sent a msg to those ex haisians in JC. one reply came back from kevin aka chee kong, saying something like "Tanx... and see you soon..."

i think he also didn't expect how soon it would be. at about 5 on thursday, juz as my train reached pasir ris, he was standing outside the door. haha. b careful wat u sms.

next week is e-learning week for me, so i'll b able to go out if anyone is tired of studying.
